The number 7 relates to intellectual and spiritual development, it corresponds to the planet Mercury, the month of July, the element water and the letters G, P and Y.
7 is the number of philosophy and metaphysics, mystery, personal secrecy and time spent alone in thougth, it is the mind in search of its reason for being and destiny; study, research, detection, science and scientific method, the bridge between the known and the unknown; philosophies, theories and disciplines which are attempting to explain the meaning of life - physical and metaphysical; intellectual and scientific writing, asssimilation of knowledge, development of a workable and evolving personal philosophy, closer observation and analysis of the known and occuring, faith in a positive order of the unseen and the future; specialization in a field of knowledge, acquisition by attraction rather than force; aristocratic, personal dignity, pride and refinement in taste, search for self and life through perfected thinking, sabbatical from the physical world.
Its shadow side is ignorance of self and the surrounding universe, scepticism in knowledge and knowing, pessimism about life, chaos and confusion, fear, melancholy, frustration, aloofness, false pride, shrewdness, dishonesty, sarcasm and argumentativeness, overpositiveness in theoretical approach, escape into drug abuse and alcoholism.
It is also the number of manifestation as a whole, which we find in the seven colors and seven notes, the seven chakras, the seven orders of angels, etc. You can probably think of several other areas, where the number seven occurs. Combined their informing lives are known as the "Seven Spirits before the Throne" or the Seven Rays.
